Set within the context of everyday life, this documentary theater performance weaves together personal stories and visual elements to expose how capitalism transforms individual choices into performative actions, compelling
us to navigate an unspoken web of moral decisions. The audience witnesses how capitalism infiltrates personal identity, prompting reflection on how we glorify the self while becoming trapped in the system.
Inspired by conversations with the people of Olomouc and footage from a local shopping mall, the performance explores the commodification of identity, emotions, and human connection.
.
Paweł views capitalism as a powerful force shaping how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us. The growing tension between personal freedom and societal responsibility becomes more evident as our actions are increasingly dictated by consumption. Through this project, he seeks
to question how we find meaning and connection in a system that commodifies everything — including our very sense of self — and how we navigate the contradictions it creates.
.
The project was developed during an artistic residency at Divadlo na cucky
in Olomouc, in partnership with students from Palacky University.
