The audio walk explores loneliness and quiet connections shaping our lives in unseen ways. Inspired by Paweł’s conversations with strangers in Karlovy Vary. The project invites participants into the world of The Lonely One — a character built from the stories the artist heard.
.
Set on an abandoned football field, the walk combines guided audio with silent, performative gestures. Participants move through scenes, following The Lonely One’s story, represented by a helium balloon head and wire body, carefully helping him “walk” with them through each part of the journey. Each person also carries a small balloon to “care for”.
.
Paweł’s vision reflects his belief that loneliness isn’t just private — it’s a collective experience, felt by many yet rarely expressed. He sees it as a reminder that, while we each seek our own happiness, we also carry responsibilities to one another. Through moments of kindness and solidarity, we navigate both the beauty and the struggle of this shared world.
.
The project was created during a residency focused on “Caring/Resisting”
at VZBUĎME VARY.
